Holistic Approach to Tree Care Rooted in Science

Root to Shoot Tree Services is a family-owned local business dedicated to serving both residential and commercial clients in the Covington, Georgia area. We care deeply in preserving the urban tree canopy of our home town of Covington.

Our company was born out of a love for the natural environment and the combined professional backgrounds of the founders; a husband and wife team with scientific and marketing backgrounds respectively.

Encouraged by his supportive wife, Dave became an ISA certified arborist and took his experience, skills and knowledge in science and tree climbing to start a family business. His background encompasses many facets of the natural sciences, which allows him to provide a holistic approach to his work. Rachel brings her extensive marketing, sales and logistical expertise to the business.

Ever since starting out as a professional tree climber in 2000 Dave completed two degrees and many years of scientific research, allowing him to apply this knowledge to his work and provide tree care services that prioritizes the health of the tree. Root to Shoot places great emphasis on providing a safe work environment while executing quality work that exceeds client expectations.

We live with our pugs within the beautiful old city of Covington, Georgia where we enjoy both adventurous pursuits and living a cozy life in the immediate surroundings of our home.
